The Phrygian Highlands can
only be reached by car or taxi. Although quite costly, I preferred to hire a guide as
well. He didn't speak any foreign language (and I don't speak Turkish), but I am happy he
was there showing me places I otherwise would have surely missed

Kapikaya
Image of Kybele carved in rock
(some 5 centuries before CE)
In
the middle of nowhere....
Again
and again vandalism e.g. destruction
The
glorious rock temple of Arslankaya, dedicated to Kybele
Kybele with two lions on each side. The lions represent Her
Son/Lovers. Only later the "beasts" got a human face....
Big
surprise: big lion
Typical
shape of a "table mountain"
Early
Hittite construction, so rare that even Queen Elisabeth II paid it a visit
(my guide proudly told me)
